Primary job role

The Assistant IT Manager is responsible for smooth functioning of IT Infrastructure Support across the Group and ensure uninterrupted availability of hardware and software resources including Microsoft Technologies. The role holder drives effective execution and deployment of infrastructure solutions within stipulated timelines.

Managing the support team and providing technical and functional guidance is critical to the role holder

Main duties/responsibilities

• Coordinate with functional heads to understand their annual IT hardware requirements – New requirements and replacements
• Develop the annual budget for infrastructure support detailing assets required, manpower and administrative cost
• Review the asset management tracker periodically and keep a track of hardware inventory and device allotments
• Develop the IT disaster recovery plan; develop recovery strategies and contingency plans to ensure quick and effective recovery
• Review the audit report provided by the team on hardware allocation, license and software usage and details such as expiry, misuse and cost
• Review service level agreements and ensure the timelines and priorities are defined appropriately
• Be Up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends to optimize the cost/ usage or enhance security, and apply what is relevant with clear ROI
• Monitor the issue resolution process by service helpdesk and identify the bottlenecks and process improvement areas
• Review the analysis of recurring issues, conduct root cause analysis and ensure long-term solutions to repeat issues
• Ensure incident response to security events are carried out in a timely manner within the defined threshold
• Proactively identify the issues and resolve with minimum user impact
• Ensure the issues related to application in Microsoft technologies are resolved within stipulated timelines; Ensuring uninterrupted business operations

Technical Knowledge

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with overall understanding and experience of Network, Data Center, Security, Microsoft, Linux and Cloud Technologies
