The Role
As the Category Manager, you will exercise effective strategic initiatives that will ensure the smooth operation across all product categories assigned, while exploring new business opportunities that will enable Lassana brand in winning the competitive advantage in the industry. You will also work closely with our suppliers and create sustainable partnerships that will create long lasting mutually beneficial relationships. Being a strategic expert with a thorough knowledge of industry best practices you will be required to perform the below responsibilities.
Job Scope & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement strategies towards expanding the existing product range, enhance visibility and sales generation.
- Build and maintain long-term profitable relationships with vendors.
- Ensure adequate product availability across all categories.
- Research on competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities.
- Market research activities to understand consumer needs and wants.
- Calculate forecasts for product demand trends.
- Manage and track P&L for the assigned category.
- Drive the team towards achieving sales targets set by the management.
Pre-requisites
- 3-5 years of experience in FMCG, E-commerce or Retail industries.
- Previous experience in category management would be desirable.
- Degree in Management, Marketing, Business Administration or a relevant professional qualification equivalent to CIM / SLIM.
- Analytical and critical thinker.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within the given time frame.
