Consultant Engineer – Transport Core Network Planning Careers At Dialog Axiata PLC In Colombo, Sri Lanka

The Job

This position is responsible for directing, formulating and managing the planning and long-term optimization (proactive optimization) of the software defined transport core network and international connectivity

• Lead and initiate ultra-reliable connectivity, higher quality of service (QoS) and enhanced customer experience in all dialog services
• Forecast the future network capacity, technology trends and generate project plans and handover it to project teams for executions
• Drive overall network efficiency and ensure optimum capex investments through use of latest technology, digitization, automation, tools, and in line with Network strategy guidelines and recommendations
• formulating strategies to optimize IP core and ISP core network to enhance the reliability, reduce capex & opex while strengthening the security
• Develop and maintain product and technology roadmap for transport core network
• Formulate the plan to migrate existing network into software define IP transport network and collaborate with relevant team for successful implementation
• Forecasting future resource consumptions such as bandwidth for each service and network layers
• Verifying architectural compliance on service delivery on new procurements, new deployments and new services
• Formulating and executing strategies to the International Transport Network Planning in order to ensure a future oriented network with admirable Capacity, Features and Quality of Service (QOS)
• Analyse overall cost structure, KPIs and SLAs for network planning and operations to identify and recommend opportunities for improvements
• Utilise analytical tools for network and market trend analysis and liaise with business & other planning teams to accurately forecast on future network capacity
• Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP), perform technical evaluations and obtaining procurement approvals for carrying out transport core network upgrades
• Responsible for optimum usage of allocated budget in planning and designing the capacity expansion to deliver Cost per GB and operational excellence targets
• Analyse external and internal environments, SWOT, technology trends and developments in the Telco industry
• Analyse and provide best optimised cost-effective timely solution to external customers to without compromising quality

The Person

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication / Electrical or any other similar qualification
• Master’s degree in engineering will be an added advantage
• 4-8 Years work experience in Telecommunications
