Job description – duties and responsibilities

Transfer Pricing Manager – The role is responsible for managing the delivery of the Transfer Pricing accounting processes that supports the group Transfer Pricing strategy. This is a key role in achieving the organisations transfer pricing goals of reasonable taxable results in every operating country and relatively low global cash tax payments.

This role sits within the within the Centre of Excellence (CoE) based in Bengaluru, India. The role is a part of the CoE which manages the central global functions that support the 3 main divisions with the organization – D&A, Capital Markets & Post Trade. The team currently supports over 100+ entities and accounts for over $6bn value in transactions.

The role requires strong management and leadership skills, with a proven ability to meet strict delivery deadlines. The role also requires the candidate to build strong relationship with Controllership, Regional Direct and Indirect Tax, Internal & External Audit and within the Centre of Excellence community and is critical in ensuring that all transactions generated by the group are accurately recorded to ensure that the financial statements reflect both local GAAP and international standards as well as complying with the Sarbanes Oxley recommendations.

The role reports to the Transfer Pricing Sr. Manager.

The key activities for the role are as follows

  • Managing the delivery of the TP accounting processes for the organization, in accordance with group and statutory deadlines ensuring that results are accurate and the provision of comprehensive reporting and analytics.
  • Management of the transfer pricing team ensuring that they deliver to their objectives and ensure that they grow through development plans and opportunities.
  • Manage the relationship with the internal and external auditors ensuring that the team provides the necessary information in response to requests from them in a timely manor.
  • Manage the TP invoice settlement processes ensuring that invoices are paid on a timely basis and that Treasury funding requirements are satisfied.
  • Ensure that all activities undertaken by the team are SOX compliant.
  • Manage all deliverables by the team that support the yearly statutory accounts exercise.
  • Manage the data gathering process that supports the yearly TP documentation exercise for Tax. Updating the templates to reflect the latest TP framework and reporting requirements and then monitoring progress with Controllership and Tax to the agreed timetable.
  • Manage the delivery of the yearly Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR) submission for the group.
  • Manage the yearly functional area and TP models review process with tax and management stakeholders to ensure that TP calculations delivered are in accordance with policy and expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Statutory Controllership, Tax Teams, Cash management, Treasury & AP teams to ensure accurate and consistent transfer pricing practices.

Department’s role

The Centre of Excellence is one of two centers based in Bangalore, India and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Providing the finance support and processing needs for LSEG Globally. Activities include supplier invoice processing and payment, employee expenses, cash management, Treasury Operations, Intergroup accounting, financial and Statutory accounting, management reporting, local compliance, and fixed asset responsibilities.

Person specification – required skills and education.

Key attributes for this role are:

  • Minimum of 14 years of experience in General Accounting, transfer pricing/international tax or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA).
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and data interpretation.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using financial software, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate complex transfer pricing concepts to stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of end-to-end accounting process.
  • Sound judgment and ability to make informed decisions in complex transfer pricing scenarios.
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Comfortable with working autonomously.
  • Understanding of SOX & IFRS.
  • Strong work ethic and team spirit.
